How to Install the NAC Koala Compact Frame Bag

At 119g, the NAC Koala Compact Frame Bag carries a full puncture kit — tube, levers, multi-tool, patches — while staying completely out of your way. It mounts in three different positions and takes under two minutes to fit, no tools needed.

Choose your mounting position

  • Top tube — easiest access while riding.
  • Seat tube — tucked away, great on busy full-suspension frames.
  • Downtube — keeps the main triangle free for bottles.

Installation steps

  1. Pick your position based on your frame layout and riding style.
  2. Open the Velcro strap and thread it around the chosen tube.
  3. Press the soft back panel flat against the frame so the anti-slip material makes full contact.
  4. Fasten the strap firmly — the bag should have no side-to-side movement.
  5. Shake test. Give it a firm shake to confirm it's locked in before riding.
  6. Load it up — spare tube, tyre levers, multi-tool, patch kit — and zip fully closed.

The check most riders miss

Before tightening, confirm no brake or shift cable runs under the strap's path — a strap cinched over a cable causes phantom shifting and brake drag that's maddening to diagnose later.

The soft back panel protects your paint and stops the bag creeping on rough terrain, so once it's on, it stays put. Deciding between bag styles? Read frame bag vs saddle bag vs top tube bag. For more capacity, see the 959XL Frame Bag.
