Frequently Asked Questions
Will it damage my chain or cassette?
No. The biodegradable, pH-neutral formula safely removes grease, grime, and old lubricant from your chain, cassette, derailleurs, and chainring without damaging any drivetrain component.
Can I use it on a wax-lubed chain?
Yes. Ultra Green effectively strips wax-based lubricants, making it ideal for riders who wax their chains and need to thoroughly remove residue before re-waxing or switching lube types.
Do I need a separate brush?
For best results, yes. The cleaner loosens grime within 2 minutes, but a brush — like our Chain and Drivetrain Cleaning Brush — speeds up the cleaning significantly and gets into the cassette gaps and jockey wheels.
Is bike degreaser safe to use near disc brakes?
Degreaser must never touch rotors or pads — contamination causes squealing and weak braking. Cover the rotor (or remove the wheel) before spraying; if overspray happens, clean the rotor with a dedicated brake cleaner immediately.
How often should I degrease my bike's drivetrain?
Every 4–6 weeks for regular riders in Indian conditions, sooner if the chain looks black and gritty. Monsoon riding shortens the interval; quick post-ride wipe-downs stretch it.
