The NAC D-Fender is a racing-grade front and rear fender kit that keeps mud, grit, and spray off your fork stanchions, seals, and frame — the components that are most expensive to service when they wear. It fits 26", 27.5", and 29er wheels with tyres from 1.8" to 3", on disc-brake bikes. Fitting takes about ten minutes.
Before you start
- The D-Fender is designed for disc-brake MTBs and hybrids — it won't clear rim-brake callipers.
- Wipe down the fork crown, stanchion arch, and seat stays so the fenders mount against a clean surface.
- Lay out the parts: front fender, rear fender (Front + Rear kit), and the included zip ties.
Fitting the front fender
- Position the fender under the fork crown, tucked between the stanchions with the blade pointing down toward the tyre.
- Thread the zip ties through the fender's mounting holes and around the fork — keep them loose at first.
- Set the angle and height so the fender follows the tyre's curve with even clearance — close enough to catch spray, far enough that mud won't pack up and rub.
- Tighten the zip ties fully and trim the excess for a clean finish.
Fitting the rear fender
- Position it over the rear tyre at the seat stays or seat tube, angled to block spray toward the saddle and drivetrain.
- Secure with zip ties, adjust the angle, then tighten and trim.
Check before you ride
Spin both wheels and confirm nothing rubs, then compress the suspension (front) to check clearance at full travel. Re-check the ties after your first rough ride — vibration can settle them slightly. The exact strap routing varies by fork shape, so keep the printed instructions in the box handy for your specific setup.
